Paint Defect on Toyota Fortuner's

I bought a brand new Toyota Fortuner in September 2016 . Late 2017 while drying my vehicle I saw small sharp pointed marks on my vehicle. I asked the Sinoville McCarthy dealer to look into it for me. After a week I was eventually told that I must go to the McCarthy Centurion dealer. I started dealing with the workshop manager but eventually ended up dealing with the dealer principal Riaan, who got the wheels rolling. Two months since I reported my problem. I was told that Toyota head office said I must go to a Toyota approved panel beater to get a report about my problem. So I did and the panel beater informed me that my whole vehicle will have to be resprayed. Riaan from McCarthy Centurion then took the matter up with head office Toyota. In the meantime I have tried to get hold of somebody at Toyota head office that can help me with my problem. I was referred to customer care. I must say that Toyota's customer is really very good. Between Toyota's customer care and Riaan from Centurion I eventually manage to get a meeting with Johan Möller who deals with these problems in the area. Present at the meeting was a gentleman who tested the paint of my vehicle. It was found that the paint was still the same as the factory paint but that the problem with my vehicle can only be rectified by respraying it completely. You can imagine my response!! I was offered a couple of choice's but don't expect to win at all people. It is held against me that I only reported this two years after I bought my vehicle. My question was, who really checks there vehicle's for something like this. It is called industrial fall out apparently. My vehicle is still under warranty !!!!!Expect a deal where you will be given a little more than book value for your vehicle and discount on a new vehicle. You will have to pay in. I expected a brand new vehicle, problem free when i bought it brand new. There was absolutely nothing wrong with my money when i bought the vehicle. The more I wash my vehicle the more I see these sharp points right around my vehicle. I have in the meantime visited Toyota dealers to look at brand new Fortunes on there floors. I have even looked at second hand one's. People brand new Fortuner's have it,in fact all of them have it. I looked at a Fortuner that could be won. It had the same problem. The dealers are selling these vehicles and a lot of people don't see this. The paint quality on the Fortuner's are shocking and Toyota makes as if it is nothing. They make you feel that it is your problem and that you are complaining about something small. They don't really value you or your money. Do not expect to win with Toyota people. Nobody from Toyota or any dealer could solve my problem up till now. Six months later. My suggestion to who ever that wants to buy a Fortuner, to first take it to a approved Toyota panel beater to get it checked for these paint defects before you buy it. Guaranteed that your Fortuner have a paint defect!!!!!!!
