NMI Toyota Tygervalley poor business ethic!

Good day,

As discussed telephonically.

I called NMI Toyota Tygervalley since just past 9am this morning regarding an advert via autotrader subscription for a Toyota Fortuner 2.8 VX priced at approximately R580000.

I first spoke to Kugen Naicker and then to Tracey. The entire morning I am trying to speak to Tracey to finish the deal. I sent several whatsapps and called several times. I eventually got hold of her and she told me she is busy with a delivery and will revert back to me. Again I sent more whatsapps and no answer. So I ended up calling the manager at Toyota for assistance.

When I told him which car I am referring to he said there is something not right there. I told him what do you mean. Again he said there is something not right and when I told him you cannot do that he said OK you know what the car is sold. I said sold to who because I called your dealership and spoke to the sales lady just after 9am and she told me it is available.

I later also asked her to pull the advert from autotrader as I was scared it will get sold. Again no reply. The manager was very defensive and honestly rude. When I told him I am going to complain about this he said you can go ahead but he was very irritated and rude.

I honestly feel very let down by Toyota NMI Tygervalley. That is not how you treat clients.

1. Tracey failed to assist me when the car was available. 2. If the pricing of the car was not right why not be honest and tell me instead of avoiding me and later on lying about the car being sold? 3. The mistake was on the part of Toyota so why can they not either sell the car to me or try to meet me halfway if there was an issue with the pricing. I would have appreciated honesty.

I deserve answers with regard to this. I have never driven any other brand and I truly feel like this was very unprofessionally handled and a slap in my face.

I deserve an explanation and apology in writing from NMI Tygervalley management. Schalk was very, very rude to me for something i was not responsible for. A good dealership and manager would have been honest, would have apologized and would have tried to meet the client halfway. His one up mentally was extremely offensive and I felt hurt and embarrassed.

That is NOT what I am used to from Toyota. This is a brand I trusted all my previous vehicles for and honestly the way I feel I don't even want to buy from Toyota again and I am going to leave them a good number of bad reviews.

So disrespectful!

The manager from NMI sent me an email last night saying they made a mistake and that the car is now on offer for R689000. That there also is an offer on the car. So in fact that us an admission that Schalk **** directly to my face and he was so rude. I don't think an offer exists and when the dust settles they will readvertise the car.

As I said human error is possible but first do the right thing. Don't lie to the client to cover yourself. Face your mistakes and be accountable. Then try to meet the client halfway. Propose another deal. Give a discount. Sincerely apologize!

For me as a loyal Toyota client for years this was a very painful experience. I have never felt so disrespected by any Toyota dealership. My dealership in Upington, Northern Cape has given me the best service for almost two decades. They treat clients with the utmost respect and you feel valued and dignified. It is not just a sale for Upington Toyota but you feel part of a family. They know you by name.

NMI Toyota Tygervalley on the other hand is a nasty piece of work. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Regards, Carmen Bock
