Missing Car License and dealer takes no responsibility
I took my car in for service at the Rustenburg Toyota on 444 Korokoro Avenue in Rustenburg. last week Monday. In their video footage, I am seen driving in my car with my car disc clearly visible on my car windscreen. This is the last time the license disc was seen. The dealer takes no responsibility for the missing disc as its not their company policy to take any responsibility for any items lost while your car is on their premise and being worked on by their staff. I would think that it would be part of their company policy to ensure that when cleaning the car they ensure that they do not mess with the the license dics as its required by law to have it displayed somewhere on the windscreen. I'm am very dissappointed at management's lack of empathy for the inconvinience that this incident has caused. I have to go pay for a new reprint which they refuse to refund me. My car was bought from them and i have a lenthy service history with Toyota over the years. I was expecting alot more from management than the legal jargon I was told in response to my situation. I cannot be expected to take out my car license disc everytime i book my car for service. Its not practical. Toyota needs to take some reaponsibility for this. The same way you are required to have a car insurance when you leave their showroom, they should also insist that they check that your car disc is in place whether its expired or not. I would like to hear from Toyota South Africa if this policy of their' dealerships is fair.
