Fortuner Misfortune
In Dec 2015 my son in law and daughter purchased a new Fortuner prior to going on holiday. The beginning of a nightmare!
o Body imperfections : Chip on bonnet on collection; dents in left hand doors; chips on driver's door; water seal on rear door did not seal; odo perspex cover scratched; bubbles in smash and grab.
o Air con broke down within the first hour of CT journey
o Knysna Toyota picked up 4 faults on their computer
o Market Toyota Culemburg repaired air con but claimed that there were no other faults!
o 250 ks from CT all the coolant leaked out onto the carpets! Odo reading 1693 km
o Fortuner loaded onto truck but rolled off because of a faulty hand brake!
o Hoeks Toyota confirmed faults found by Knysna - denied by Market Toyota! Faults were: heater not clamped properly; vehicle stability control; faulty speed control & speed records
o Interior lights ceased to operate and headlamps malfunctioned
Shocking reality is that Customer Care could not care that lives were endangered by their poor build quality and lack of pre delivery service. Vehicle returned to dealer less R10,00.00. Prospective Toyota owners beware!
