Faulty "new Toyotas" beware hungry salesman talk right walk lefr
Good Day,
Will not be referring anymore clients to you Mr Andre Bond at Toyota faulty new Toyotas.
Please see below from the client referred to you.
It is with great concern that I write to you. I purchased my Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid vehicle on 19th June 2024. There was 25km on the odometer. As we were doing the vehicle checks we noticed that the left roof rack was loose. We booked the vehicle in for this to be changed. New parts were ordered and the replacement was done. On 25 July 2024, I drove my vehicle, dropping my son to school as well as other errands in the centurion area. At 14h55 I got into my parked vehicle in the garage; I tried starting my vehicle and the warning message was 'hybrid system failure'. My vehicle was stuck. I called Toyota Centurion from whom I purchased the vehicle. Our sales guy Andre Bond arranged for a tow truck to pick the vehicle up for an assessment. On 26 July my husband received a call from Francis explaining that after the diagnostic checks, the message appears that the vehicle was driven too fast but all is in order now. I was extremely shocked because I have not driven my vehicle greater than a speed of 120km; I have just come away from a bad accident on 27 May so have been very cautious and slow while driving. I have also tried to maintain petrol usage to max of 5L per 100km. I expressed my outrage knowing that I hadn't driven fast, so why did the vehicle stall like that. I am concerned that this will happen in the future. This is a new vehicle and I'm concerned that there is an underlying problem. A gentleman by the name of JJ GM of Toyota Centurion called and said he will investigate my concerns. He has called back and explained that the fast speed error was probably recorded on the vehicle when Toyota was running its tests before the vehicle was dispatched JJ added that there is no date linked to the fast speed error message . I asked why suddenly this error message cropped up and stalled my vehicle. He explained that there probably was a glitch in the system. Please can proper investigations be undertaken to get to the cause of this problem. I am very concerned that my supposed new vehicle will stall again. Due to this unexpected issue I was without a vehicle and this was a terrible inconvenience. When one purchases a new vehicle, one doesn't expect issues like stalling.
Please can feedback be provided as a matter of urgency from Toyota South Africa.
Will not be referring anymore clients to you.
Kind regards
Rizwana Ahmed
