'Faulty' fuel gauge after a service
It is absolutely shocking that your car is booked for a service at a dealership, Mall@Carnival (BRAKPAN), and when you get your car back the fuel gauge is ‘faulty’, as Toyota calls it. On 27/06/2017 I took my Toyota Fortuner for a 120 000km service, and when I got my car back all looked fine and in order. A day later, my car just came to a complete standstill. I was furious as this happened in a busy intersection, not to mention that it is extremely dangerous, and I had both my nieces in the car with me. I phoned Toyota to assist, which arrived a while later. (I had to make arrangements to have the kids fetched) I was told without checking that I had no diesel in my car. When I questioned them that my fuel gauge did not even rich quarter, I was told that the fuel gauge went out of caliber and is faulty. I HAVE NEVER EVER HEARD ABOUT ANYTHING LIKE THIS IN MY LIFE. My car never gave me any problems until that service. I bought the car brand new and this is what I get. I was told that I should not drive my car under quarter, must make sure it is always above that level. WHAT IS THE USE OF A FUEL LIGHT THEN? Toyota told me that I must fix this on my next service at my own expense. I contacted Head Office which advised me that I should not pay for it and that I must get Toyota to fix it at their expense. After this incident, I had no other choice but to drive my car, with a ‘faulty’ fuel gauge, and to make sure that the fuel gauge stay above quarter. For a while it was ok to drive the car in this faulty state, the car will just come to a standstill when it feels like it, even with half a tank of diesel still showing. I MEAN REALLY Luckily, or should I say unluckily, my car was due for another service on 15/11/2017 and once again I took it up with the service department at ********** I explained the situation to the service advisor, Ramesh Ramklown, and he made a note of this. Upon collection of my car he informed me that the part had been ordered and that Toyota will fix this at their expense and that he would contact me once the part has arrived. Today, more than two weeks later not even a simple phone call yet that the part has arrived. Yet I have to phone at my expense almost daily. And every time I phone the service advisor is not available. I have left numerous messages and had no reply. Very poor service is the only thing that can explain this. What frustrates and angers me the most, is that Toyota Carnival billed me for this part, which was not fitted first of all and appears to be on “A LOST COURIER” after assuring me that they would fix it at their expense. I have no words to express my disappointment, frustration not to mention the un-trusted service I received from CARNIVAL TOYOTA MALL@CARNIVAL TOYOTA WILL NOT SEE ME FOR ANOTHER SERVICE………………………..
