Don't buy the Toyota variant of the Toyobaru or the Z4/Supra

Do not buy any of the Toyota and Subaru or Toyota and BMW collaborations. This means the Toyota 86 or the Toyota Supra. Rather buy the BRZ at Subaru or the BMW Z4 at BMW. Subaru and BMW will gladly fix the cars for you when Toyota will send you pillar to post and refuse to fit parts that you buy from the OEM as Toyota technically doesn't manufacture these cars. I've experienced this first hand under REF *** when Toyota SA flat refused to fit FA20 engine parts bought at Subaru as the Toyota quote was twice that amount making the repair uneconomical for the first few Toyota 86s sold in 2012.
