CANCELLATION OF WARRENTY
I erroneously took our new Toyota Hilux 3.0 D4D, purchased 03.04.2014, for service on 13,430 km on 26.01.2016 only to find out that the warranty was invalid because the service intervals were 10,000 km or first year which ever came first. A case of human error.
I contacted Toyota Customer Service and Nomvula pointed this fact out to me and advised that there was no way we could receive a gesture of goodwill. Despite that fact that this is the third Toyota Hilux we have owned, but the first brand new vehicle.
On further investigation I discovered that the record in the service card indicates the next service at 20,000 km, while the sticker on the door indicates next service 30,000 km. -
Despite there being no damage to the vehicle by having a service at 13,340 km, I have been punished and yet Toyota dealership has allowed for human error by their staff?
Should the guarantee still have been in place and the vehicle was next serviced at 30,000 km it would mean it was in arrears with its service by 20,000km. Who would then take the blame?
It goes to show we can all make mistakes!
VIN NO AHTHZ29GX***8
REG CJS263NC
