Bonnet scoop peeling paint

Toyota fortuner 2011 model has bonnet scoop paint peeling off. Not just small chips but big flakes of paint. Very strange. I have looked on Toyota forums and there was a problem previously. Morgan from customer care states that cause it is out of warranty they wont assist. My 2004 corolla does not do it. When phoning customer care. I get given a fat No. Just bought the fortuner and really am a Toyota fan. So the older vehicles quality of paint seems to be better. But Toyota SA simply wont assist. It is not a new vehicle but Toyota to me is for life. So just because its out of warranty and the previous owner skipped a service Toyota will not even assist. ***
