Bad Service
The reaction time on gears on my 2.8 Toyota Fortuner GD6 when slowing down and re-accelerating the gears on the automatic does not select instantly The gears are not reacting instantly which makes it unsafe to drive around but according to Toyota manager, it's safe. I contacted the dealership numerous times and after them testing another vehicle they get back to me saying that this is a characteristic of the vehicle, while on another occasion i was told that it is a software problem. However, the matter was escalated to Toyota Customer care and thereafter to Japan and I have received feedback that it is software but there is no positive timeframe as to when the problem will be fixed. After all running around, Toyota customer care consultant and manager refuses to take my calls or call me back after leaving a number of messages for them. To buyers- before buying a Toyota fortuner 2.8 GD6 test for reaction time in gears and not only speed of the vehicle as dealerships do not make us aware of this fault- according to them it is an advanced gearbox. It's so advanced that it jerks around like an old vehicle.
