Appalling service from Market Toyota Culemborg
I took me about 4 years to convince my wife to take her 14 year old Run X into Toyota for a service. I promised her that she would experience legendary Toyota quality. I had to move from Barlow World Toyota because I no longer worked in the area. They had been excellent. I chose Market Toyota Culemborg and what a disappointment they proved to be. About 6 months ago I took my Fortuner for a service at Market Toyota Culemborg I spoke to Jaco the service advisor about the Run X. He said when my wife brought it in for a service, they would give it the standard set of Toyota checks and he would give me a list of what needed fixing, in priority order over time, to get the car 100%. We booked the Run X in about 6 weeks ago. We dropped the car off with Jaco. They had the car for 36 hours. No update phone call from them, and I had to phone more than once to get the status. Jaco said he hadn't phoned because he had nothing to report and the car was in excellent condition. Warning lights started flashing. We arrived to fetch the car early before work at the time agreed 7.15 am and found Jaco was not there. So we waited for his arrival. In the dark I tested the headlight problem I'd reported. Problem was not found by the mechanic and bulbs were installed by Jaco when he arrived. I asked about the clutch which I had said clearly was problematic. Jaco said just carry on driving until the problem gets worse. We paid the bill. No list of issues needing attention was received. And zero evidence of the car having had a Toyota service check. I got one of those phone calls to find out if I was happy with the service. I said no and asked for the Service Manager to phone me. I never got the call. They had my money and had no further interest in me. My wife refused to go back to Market Toyota Culemborg. And the clutch got very bad very quickly. We returned yesterday to her original workshop who are not Toyota accredited. They fitted a new clutch. The previous one was down to the rivets. AND they asked why Toyota had not reported that the radiator had a leak and will need replacing. This episode with Market Toyota Culemborg has damaged my faith in Toyota quality. All they wanted was to bank the money. There is no evidence at all that a proper service was done - no checklist, no status phone calls, no list of what the car needs fixed, and no report of issues that need to be fixed immediately. What a disappointment Market Toyota Culemborg are.
