Toyota Financial Services Cut off Communication!

It was a difficult time for most restaurants during the pandemic. You're only really faced with one option, and that's to pay staff and have other bills fall in line. With a landlord unwilling to negotiate rent, even during full-lockdown, it was impossible to cover bills - I had to close the restaurant down.

During this time, some months went into arrears on my car account, but I was able to adjust and prioritise my payments shortly after. Haven't missed a payment since, and I've been getting legal letters regarding the outstanding amount.

I'm not disputing that, as I've communicated back with Toyota Financial Services each time that legal letter has been sent through. I then get a mail saying my request will be attended to. In that same mail, they provide me with a person I can communicate directly with on the matter. I've sent a number of mails through there as well, starting from last year, in an attempt to sort this matter out, but still nothing. Even follow-ups asking the gentleman if he's had a chance to read my mails, and still no reply.

Then this week, I get emails from two different debt collectors saying that Wesbank has obtained a court order for return of the vehicle. Quite unpleasant mails to receive when I've been the one putting in the effort to communicate with Toyota Financial Services and not getting any reply to my mails.

Relationship started off great at the beginning, but I haven't dealt with a business that won't at all communicate back to its client. That's the very basic form of courtesy I expect, as someone who's never willingly defaulted on payment, but rather found a way to get back on the horse and honour my commitment.

My absolute last attempt at trying to communicate with Toyota Financial Services is through a negative post like this, but I've explored all amicable means of communicating, and they're unwilling to reciprocate.

In my experience, it feels that on a personal level, they care very little about the actual client, but in the broader sense of brand image and reputation, they'll do what it takes to protect what translates to more business.

Hoping someone at Toyota Financial Services reads this, and is open to some form of discussion.
