Are we being ****med?
My vehicle was involved in an accident and has been written off. Toyota Financial Services quoted me a settlement on the 10 June. Now, a month later, the insurance company is ready to settle the claim. I am now told that the settlement figure has increased by R2k. On Thurs 23rd July I sent an email to query this. On Wed 29th, and after many emails, I eventually got a reply email to say that it was due to the extra month's interest. I rep**** to point out that in the interim I had been charged another instalment, so in fact that capital amount should have decreased again. No response.<br> I resorted to calling their helpline and trying to speak to someone in charge. Their supervisor/manager's response was that the settlement had increased because it had now been requested by an insurance company!!<br> I was assured that I would be contacted by their legal department to revise the settlement - many phone calls later, I am still waiting!!!

Detailed feedback was provided clarifying that the initially quoted settlement was inclusive of the debit order that was due, meaning that a total of R184,624.07 was required. The following settlement that was quoted included a termination fee that, at the discretion of the credit provider, was negotiated in lieu of your continued patronage.
