I have a Toyota Corolla 1.3 prestige which was financed by Toyota and I paid monthly instalment amount of R6184.09.... I then decided to refinance my vehicle with standard bank vehicle finance. I made an application to standard bank and it was approved and we agreed that I will pay a monthly instalment of R5351.01... commencing on the 01 of August 2020. Standard bank vehicle finance settled the settlement money with Toyota on my behalf on the 11th of July 2020 and I expected the account to be closed with Toyota. On the 24th of August 2020 Toyota Financial Services debited my account the same monthly instalment that I would pay while still financed with them. on the 27th of July 2020 I contacted standard bank vehicle finance consultant which was helping me with the application( Palesa Teba) and asked her that how was it possible for Toyota finance to continue debiting on my account whilst standard bank paid the settlement money to Toyota. She then contacted Toyota and she was asked to send a proof of payment. Proof of payment was sent to Toyota on the same day and the lady that we spoke to said it will take 48hours for the funds to be allocated and also it will take 5-7 working days for me to get back my refund. I was given a reference number...….. On the 01 August Standard bank vehicle finance debited my account as per agreement. Toyota financial services debited my account for the second time on the 26 of August 2020, I then reversed the debit order and I got the refund. I have been sending emails to Toyota and speaking to them via telephone asking them a proof of refund for July instalment that they debited because they said to me that they had paid the July refund. The only proof of refund that I got from Toyota as I had requested is for August debit that I had reversed. Today I sent Toyota finance my 3months bank statement starting from June to end August so that they will see that I never received my July refund as they had promised me.

I am so disappointed by such treatment that a good paying customer can be treated this way. I would urge Toyota financial services to urgently resolve this. I need my refund back ASAP.
