You better not ask for a refund at this place
On Saturday I took a friend's son for an eye exam. I made it clear to the assistant that I require a low budget solution. She showed me the wall where the low budget frames are. After the eye exam, the optometrist took the boy to another wall and there were two frames selected. I eventually paid R5410 for two pairs of glasses, but after speaking to my own optometrist, he informed me that the quality of those frames compared to others do not justify the price. These are basic quality frames with plastic lenses and blue light protection.
As a consumer and within my rights I went to the store this morning to ask for a refund as I have changed my mind and it is clear this business do not empower their staff properly. The head office didn't start normal business hours and nobody could make a decision.
The consumer protection act is VERY clear on cooling off periods and telling me that anyone have started working on these lenses since Saturday is simply not true.
And even if you did, I still have the right to receive the lenses and cancel all of the other products.
I will see how this turns out but I will not be accepting anything less than a full refund (minus the eye exam). I will go to the consumer council for a resolution if it has to take me a year!!
