UNAFFORDABLE EYEWEAR
More than a month ago I went to the N1 City branch for spectacles. I was told that my medical aid would not cover for bi-focals so I opted to take 2 pairs of specs. I had to pay in an additional amount of R1863 to cover the anti-glare and sunscreen. When I got the specs, I found it very uncomfortable to switch between 2 pairs (reading, far vision). I then called my medical aid and they confirmed that they would pay R1575+- towards bi-focals, I went back to Torga to request a replacement of the 2 pairs to the bi-focals as covered by my medical aid. I said that I only want the antiglare and not the sunscreen coating. I specifically said that I only want what my medical would pay for. Eventually when I got the new specs, I thought I would get a refund of a portion of what I had paid for when I took the 2 pairs, as in my opinion that additional R1863, was for the antiglare and the sunscreen. I was refused a refund, and was told that there is no refund due to me. This is day light ******* and they do not assist or give the most affordable eyewear to their patrons. They claim , " 30 day unconditional guarantee on all frames and lenses and if you are unhappy, they will replace or adjust to the clients satisfaction and at no charge to the client". So when I asked if I could come and replace the frame to the medical aid paid option, my question was not answered, and I was told that there is no refund due to me.
