Torga dont honour warranty

My wife bought new glasses from Torga Greenstone. Paid cash of + R11000 because Torga charge extra for medical aid claims. This was September 2016. Now, in February 2016 she has noticed several straight line scratches appearing on the lenses. No problem we though because Torga provide a warranty. So took them back to the branch. Was told that a) we didnt buy them there (we did) , then b) the frames werent theirs (they were of course). Having failed to put us off with those responses we were told that the scratches were of a mechanical nature caused by cleaning the glasses.

I complained that after five months usage and cleaning using the cloth provided and after soaking in water that the lenses should not have scratched.

The assistant told us that the manager was busy and couldnt see us right now but that no, Torga would not consider a warranty claim from us.

We both wear glasses and this is the first time that I have known a lense to scratch so badly after such a short time.

I will not use Torga again. Their warranty isnt worth the paper its written on, their specials dont seem to ever apply and their staff are constantly changing.

When I contacted Torga's CEO, Ian Buchanan ********** he was very unhappy about the way the branch handled the issue and he had a new pair of lenses made for us. We had them fitted today and all is now well.
