Torga Baywest Mall Bad Service / Horrible Experience

I went there today, 12 Aug 2019 at 14:00 as a walk in customer. The receptionist told me to choose my frame that I want. Every 2 years I get 1 visit to see a Optometrist as per my medical aid. The white Optometrist took me back to test my eyes. But before the test began she asked me about my medical history. I told her about my hypothyroidism and then she tested my eyes. I had my old glasses with me and she tested my glasses as well and came back to me and said that my hormones and hypothyroidism is the cause of my bad eye sight. She told me that my 4 year old glasses will work as soon as my Eltroxin medication kicks in. But what I don't understand is that I have been on Eltroxin for 24 years. My eye sight is just getting worse by the day. She told me that I can not get new glasses. So now I must wait another 2 years too get my next test. I never knew that she studied to become a "General Practitioner" seeing that she is more worried about my medical history than my eyes. If I wanted medical advice I will go to a QUALIFIED GP. Not an eye doctor.

Now I want to know how many customer has she lost by being a "GP" and not a Optometrist.

I phoned another Torga and explained to them what happened and this person just laughed and said that is not Torga's Policies. Because Torga is there to sell glasses for reading or whatever the case my be.

So I stood up and left because this woman is a unprofessional. The Optometrist. After I told her that I can't even read a Whatsapp message on my phone or even a book for that matter.

So please people. Don't ever use Torga Baywest Mall as the Optometrist is more worried about your medical history then testing your eyes and giving or selling you new glasses.
