Professionals vs consumers

My review refers to Torga Optical in Eastgate Mall. If you go to a optometrist/doctor/dentist etc you would go to these people for advise because they should have more knowledge about what they do and give you the correct advise. My husband went to get his eyes tested on the 29th January 2020. He was told that his eyesight had deteriorated and needed glasses. He asked the optometrist Kelly to advise on what to do. She recommended bifocals for his day to day and also his sunglasses as they had a promo going. My husband he would take her recommendation and paid her over R6000.00 in cash for the glasses. He has had to go back now twice because he cant use the glasses. The first time he went back she said that she had done the glasses slightly stronger and would redo them. We waited another week for the glasses, when he went to collect then he told her that he was not happy with the glasses as to him he could see far and didn't need glasses except for reading. She did not agree with this. We decided upon her recommendation to try the new glasses for a couple of days. My husband returned once more with glasses in hand and told her that he can't see through them. She then asks what he would like to do and he said they must be reading glasses. She then asks him if his sunglasses must also be changed to reading glasses???? I don't think you would drive and read a book at the same time. My question is why must i pay for bifocals when they were clearly not the correct ones for me. I want my money back for the difference between bifocals and single vision glasses. It is disgusting how us as consumers just get taken for a ride every time because "it's not company policy" to pay back any difference.
