False advertising
After viewing Top Carpets and Floors Winter Special online regarding their "Luxury Wool Berber carpet II" I was put in contact with the Stellenbosch branch where I agreed to make the purchase. To my great disappointment the product advertised doesn't remotely match the carpet installed on my floor and I'm not referring to the colour. There are numerous little gaps in the carpet where one can quite clearly see the base shining through. I've been in contact with Crest flooring about this matter and have been informed by their rep that this is normal for wool carpets?! The owner of Crest flooring has resolved to put me in contact with the carpet manufacturer Van Dyck to come and personally inspect the carpet, but even if this sub-standard state of the carpet is "normal", Top Carpets must be aware that it is ******* to falsely advertise any product and in violation of consumer rights. In the close-up picture of the carpet advertised there are NO gaps visible and in the small flip file carpet sample book provided instore I didn't notice them either. I've been told by the owner of the store that it's just not as aparent because it's a smaller piece of carpet...
