Service of motor vehicle

Took my 2013 LDV for a 150 k service on 22 Dec 2017.

Just the lubricant replacements amounted to R 2128 !!!! Plus a “consumable “ for R 120. ! rags or waste to clean hands ? Three filters totaled R 725.. Here is the kicker, the labor came to R 2,800 !!!!!! The vehicle was at the dealer from 8am to 3 pm. Take off an hour for lunch plus an hour for standing time, that totals 5 hours. R 560 per hour !!!!! Question - does the mechanic get paid R 560 per hour. When I queried these costs, admittedly I did receive a verbal quote, the attitude was take it or leave it, the vehicle will not be released until payment is made. I of course had to make the judgement call at the time of the verbal quote, but after being advised that this was a major service, these things had to be attended to. I will be taking this further with the Ombudsman, I can tell you.
