Disappointment at my sneakers losing colour after just one wash

Bought sneakers from the Mall of the South branch. Washed them once and they completely lost their colour. So disappointed at the response I received from the Maponya mall where they basically blamed me for the whole incident, telling me I shouldn't have washed the sneakers cos their sneakers and water do now mix. I mean how was I supposed to know when nobody told me????
