Unprofessionalism at Thorp Plumstead
I done a trade-in at Thorp in Plumstead at the end of February, immediately picked up the issue with the car and turned right around and took it back. I was told to drive it for a week and if the issue persists to take it back - which I then did. I was then asked to wait 2 weeks as there were no appointments to see to the car as the guy was unavailable. I then waited the requested two weeks and had to follow up to find out when I could take the car in.
I was finally asked to bring the car in 25 March and I have not received any proper updates since then. I had to make contact to get any feedback and each time I was told, they’re still looking for the issue. I was even told the gearbox was taken out but that isn’t the problem and then finally the car was taken to BMW to locate the problem and have it fixed.
I contacted the dealer principal 26 April and he then told me the issue is with the gearbox - as if this was told to me - which is now more concerning for me because there’s misinformation being provided.
I have told them multiple times that I no longer want the car. But they have completely disregarded my request to cancel the deal. I received a call from the salesman on 6 May, (after not hearing from them since 26 April), advising they have the part and it shouldn’t be much longer.
This is also a safety issue for me because I don’t trust that the car will be in perfect condition as it’s been so long trying to find the problem.
This service is completely unacceptable and I have been more than patient and understanding as a client but I have not had my car for over a month now and paying for something I don’t have is very frustrating and I am feeling disrespected and am fed up with this stress.
