Top Service Received

My son went into Thorp Plumstead in June and saw a very appealing Hyundai and was assisted by salesperson, Jean Huysamer. After test driving the vehicle, he decided that he will buy it and the Pre-Owned sales Manager, Charl Young happily agreed to resolving some defects on the vehicle, and also adjusted the price of the vehicle accordingly.

After collecting the vehicle, he noticed a shudder on the front of the vehicle and assumed it was a wheel balancing issue, and took it to an alignment centre for an assessment. After the balancing and alignment, the shuddering continued and he took it to Hyundai Somerset West for its due service and to check the shuddering problem. They assessed the vehicle and determined that the front left shaft is buckled and needs to be replaced. This was not covered under the warranty as it appeared to have been damaged by a possible pothole or kerb.

My son immediately contacted both Jean and Charl, and they responded within a minute of his email advising that they will attend to the issue. They then informed him that the damage was not declared by the previous owner and the costs would be for their account. He challenged that with them by advising that this was between him and Thorpe, and not him and the previous owner, which they agreed.

After a few phone calls to Charl, they agreed that he can proceed with the repair and they will refund him the full amount. The parts were order from Korea, and it arrived sooner than expected, and the vehicle was back on the road within a few weeks. I am so happy to report that Thorpe has made a full refund for the repairs.

I just want to extend my sincere gratitude to all at Thorpe for coming through with their promise of ensuring that my son’s issue was resolved promptly, and efficiently. We were not given the run around, our phone calls and emails were received and responded to. I would highly recommend them for their outstanding service and friendliness. Their values of Dedication, Reliability, Integrity, Visionary, and Excellence has certainly been well received.
