TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!

A few months ago the above vehicle is booked in for its annual service which happens every year usually at Thorp Plumstead.

Nothing wrong with car - it simply needs it's service, and at my insistence, the timing belt is changed.

At this point, everything goes south when we are advised that for some reason the right front wheel bearing needs replacing. We decide to give your technicians the benefit of the doubt and we ask them to go ahead with this unexpected job.

About two months down the line, a noise is evident from the right front wheel where the wheel bearing was replaced. The car is booked back into workshop and after fiddling with the wheel rotation (Pat) we are informed that the problem is because of uneven wear of tyres. Which of course we know is nonsense but again give the technician the benefit of the doubt.

The car is then taken to Hi-q Fitment Centre who fitted the tyres initially, where they debunk that story. They make me feel the shudder on the right front wheel and send me back to Thorp with the request that your technicians call them in need.

The car is booked back in for a second time for the wheel bearing to be replaced. Nothing is done at this stage to ascertain if that is the actual problem. We think some guess work was done - as with the tyre diagnosis........

On Thursday 6th September the car is handed back to us and on Sunday 9 th September a noise is evident from the same wheel.

Back it comes to workshop on Monday 10th September and this time two of your employees hear the noise - Isaac and Warren.

Warren strips the wheel area, finds nothing wrong and reassembles. At this stage, incorrect assembly is thought to be the problem. The car is taken home.

Today, my daughter is driving home when she sends me several voice notes reporting the noise is back again! !!!!!

We have often had bad experiences with this workshop mainly due to unavailability of parts, but this takes the cake.

The inconvenience. The expense of finding alternative transport. I might add that to date no apology and no courtesy car has ever been offered. Not that we even want one. We want competent people to find the real issue. This is a matter that deserves to be escalated to Mr Thorp if not urgently resolved. And it will come to that. ....

I don't know that anyone in your workshop has a clue what's wrong - perhaps the car should be sent to one of your other branches likes Claremont maybe. I don't know anymore.
