****/ rip-off story of the week. <br> I took my car to Thorp Plumstead for its yearly service end of last month. First of all their service and communication with me was **********! They ended up doing work on my car without letting me know and charging me a crazy amount, which I ended up not paying for because they never cleared it with me. But it gets worse.... After the service they told me there were major repairs that had to be fixed ASAP and it would cost me R33 000 to fix everything! I took this quote to a local, with a great reputation, mechanic to have them quote on the repairs as I could not afford R33k.<br> They phoned me back 4 hours later, was meant to take them 2 hour, to say that they could find absolutely nothing wrong with my car!!! They did end up fixing a small crack in my water pipe for just over R2k, but where or how Thorp Plumstead come up with the amount R33k no one knows.<br> Be warned NEVER go to Thorp plumstead.
