Disgusted

On Tuesday, 18 April we contacted Thorp Plumstead to book a service for our Chev Sonic for it's 60 000km service. The service was scheduled for Monday, 24 April. We booked the car in at 07h30, it was number 5 in the qeue - Service was excellent from the lady that booked us in. At 10h30 Thorp contacted my husband to inform him that the service was outside the service warranty and that we would have to pay for it, which we were well aware of. At 16h00 my husband contacted Thorp to ask how far our car is as we finish work at 17h00. They were going to find out and get back to him. They never did. At 16h30 his collague took him to Thorp and when he got there the car was still on the lift. He went to the service department to find out what was going on. They informed him that they did not have brake pads, brake linings and bulbs in stock. My husband was very angry and dissappointed as now one informed him about this and that he had no way of getting home. The service manager spoke to him and made promises of discounted prices etc, but as you can imagine my husband was furious and not interested in his promises. He took the car and left without the above mentioned items being repaired.

My thoughts are that if you knew a week in advance a car is coming in for a service surely you should have the parts available and secondly they were quick to phone us to say we have to pay for the service, but could not inform us of the situation, not even talking about the inconvenience.
