TDC, not as glamourous as made out to be.

As a student at think digital I have uncut raw evidence of how this online school operates. I have been enrolled for two years and have witnessed the change in assessment methods from grade 9 through to 10.

In grade nine we simply wrote exams provided by think digital, it was completely digital, no pen and paper needed. All grade 9 exams were in line with the curriculum and work covered over the term. Exams were immediately submitted with the results instantly emailed to a parent. For future reference my results were amazing with A's strong B's (80-90%)

Now here is the problem with think digital. Grade 10 is where the assessment method changed. We are now required to print out answer books provided by TDA and submit our assessments via a scanned PDF format. Doesn't sound bad right? Unless your papers are marked by real humans and they have the audacity to mark questions wrong although they are correct. For example, my 87% for LO last year dropped to 51%! All because the marked 'Learners answers' wrong, this is outrageous (a learners answer is literally a learners opinion). Did I mention that all assessment enquiry emails never got answered, it was only after we called them directly we were told the email addresses were changed.

I am exceptional student with many awards to show for it. My results for terms 1 and 2 are simply disgusting. The exams are sourced elsewhere and aren't issued by TDC.

Their quality check is terrible as they are: -spelling errors in study notes and lessons -question errors in exams

These are only solved after an enquiry over the phone as emails are still extremely unreliable. Marks were lost in Math's because of a number error which rendered the question impossible to solve. At this point i am failing the year with a 29% average in math's it pains me to think about the results of the average student.

In summary, we are paying them but are policing them to do their jobs on top of trying to get an education. Do not make the mistake of enrolling your child for grade 10-12.
