Non-existent service from this "Professional Body"

<p>I am a South African Architect, working abroard. Before leaving South Africa I requested through the SACAP website to resign / freeze my membership until such time that I return to South Africa. No response was received. Phoning the SACAP offices were unsuccessful and I continued sending requests through their website in order to resolve this matter. No responses were received. As the website explicitly states, that the form in their ‘contact us’ section is the only way of communicating, I therefore cannot produce the proof of these e-mails. And they made this very clear to me!<br />Nevertheless, I received a full subscription fee invoice. I contacted SACAP and challenged the invoice as I was not prepared to pay the full membership fee as I was not practising as an Architect in South Africa. The contact person denied that my requests to resign / freeze my membership were ever received. The matter was left till end of 2014 when I enquired about the SACAP Amnesty for Re-registration. No concluding advice was giving by them.<br />This back and forth communication carried on without SACAP committing to anythig or giving me advice on how to conlcude this matter. </p> <p>This so called 'professional' body is a disgrace to the Architectural Profession.</p>
