Fail to deliver on promises

I wish I had heeded the warnings on this page before paying VAST amounts of money to this institution. They give an excellent sales pitch, unfortunately they do not deliver on this.

* I have not had a single assignment that has been returned on their promised deadlines, it seems that deadlines only apply to students and not to staff. * An exam that we were told would take around 2 hours to complete took me TEN hours and then I just couldn't continue anymore (this was the experience of almost everyone in the class). * There has been so much confusion over dates for a certain module, no one knew what was going on. There was also confusion about how these assignments should be submitted, everyone was doing different things. * Many educators take weeks to reply, if they even bother to reply at all, despite their promised 24-hour turnaround. * There are huge inconsistencies with the way that educators mark work, so it is impossible to aim for a certain standard as you just have no idea how they will see your work. * When I filled out an official complaint, they addressed an issued that I had not even asked them to address and none of the other bullet points I had raised - this made me realise why there is such inconsistency in marking, they clearly don't even read your work, just respond to what they assume you are saying. * This is a VERY expensive institution who clearly have no regard for the time and effort you put in to paying for it. I find this hugely disrespectful. At least at UNISA they don't promise much, so you go in having low expectations and it costs you 1/4 of the price.

I hope that this warning can help someone else before they pay A LOT of money to be disappointed.

Good evening Alison,

Your complaints have been escalated to SACAP's Governance Manager, under the Registrar's Office, for investigation. The Student Governance Manager holds institutional oversight of all complaints, grievances, and appeals.

As per the aspects outlined in your complaint, SACAP recognizes that your experience as a student may not have met the standards of excellence we strive to uphold, which is inconsistent with our brand promise and our endeavour to continuously improve the learning and teaching experience.

Due to the varied nature of the complaints, the Student Governance Manager is currently liaising with the relevant SACAP leadership to ensure a thorough investigation and outcome for all stakeholders, along with ensuring a positive experience going forward.

We appreciate your patience and understanding throughout this process. If you have any further information or questions, please do not hesitate to reach out directly to the Registrar's Office. This email address will be sent to you via direct message.

Kind regards,

Registrar’s Office

Since November, I have constantly heard “your concerns have been escalated”. This may or may not happen, I don’t know, but certainly absolutely nothing has been done to fix any of these issues.

No one seems to care one bit that I’m making many sacrifices to be able to pay for a service that was promised and is not being delivered. The blatant disregard for the fact that I am paying A LOT of money for this service and not receiving the things that you promise is appalling!
