Useless diagnosis and over inflated repair estimate.
I recently contacted The Pool Team in order to have a possible suction leak investigated. I was informed that I would have to pay a call out fee of R575. I paid this on Monday, November 27. I was informed that the team would be able to come out on the Friday 1st December.
When the team came out on Friday they did a few tests and mentioned that there was a suction leak between my weir and the pump.
They gave me a verbal estimate that the cost would be around R6390! This was to replace the undergound pipe (about 2.5 metres). I was told that a formal quotation would follow shortly. It's now Monday 4 December and I still haven't had any response from The Pool Team. No quotation - nothing.
In the meantime, I decided to contact another pool repair company and get a second opinion. This second company came out on Saturday 2 December and after checking the system they were confident that there was nothing wrong with my suction. They gave me instructions on what to do over the weekend and after carrying out these instructions I can say that my pool has been performing perfectly since.
I'm disgusted at the Pool Team's poor service and diagnosis. The fact that I had to pay R575 for a callout fee and received the incorrect diagnosis, let alone an over inflated estimate (the formal quotaion has still not arrived), leaves a very bad taste in the mouth.
I will never use this company again.
