Improper installation of pool pump an warranty avoidance

On August 2, 2023, your team installed a pool pump at my residence, which was sold to me with the assurance of a two-year warranty. Unfortunately, the pump malfunctioned on February 6, 2025—well within the warranty period. I promptly contacted your company to report the issue. However, I was required to pay an additional call-out fee for your team to collect the pump and send it to the supplier for assessment, which I found unexpected given the warranty coverage.

After a frustrating delay of over a month, I received final feedback from your company on April 2, 2025, stating that the supplier deemed the warranty void due to the pump having been "flooded." I was informed that no replacement or repair would be provided under the warranty.

I strongly dispute this outcome for the following reasons: As the experts entrusted with the sale and installation of this equipment, it was your responsibility to ensure the pool pump was installed correctly, in a suitable location, and in a manner that would prevent such issues as flooding—particularly if this could void the warranty. At no point during the installation process was I advised of specific conditions or risks that could lead to this outcome, nor was I informed that improper installation could nullify the warranty. If the pump’s failure was indeed due to flooding, I contend that this reflects a failure in the professional standard of installation provided by your team, for which I should not be held accountable.
