Filter repair ripoff

I had a cracked fitting on my 3 bag pool filter. Instead of quoting to replace the fitting they quoted me R5800 to replace the whole filter + new sand in addition to charging me R600 call out fee to do an inspection. When I spoke to Ramsay the Area Manager ***) he justified the quote by saying they never replace a fitting on a filter and always quote to replace the whole filter !!! I subsequently got the fitting replaced for R1850 + new sand with inspection visit for free.
