Are we customers or suspects to Hub PMB?

Went shopping to a number of stores in Church Street Pietermaritzburg. Had a laptop bag with me since I had just left work. Upon entering the Hub Pmb, the security woman asked me to open my bag for her so she could see inside. Annoyed I did so as she pushed a wooden stick into my bag, striking my laptop and then waved me off. After spending 10 minutes in a packed store with no air conditioning I chose an item to purchase but looking at the till point, there were literally 26 people in the queue, with only 3 tills open and the rest of the staff standing around behind the counter chatting. Not being a glutton for punishment I decided to leave the item I wanted to purchase and leave. On exiting the store the same security woman grabs my arm and says open your bag AGAIN. At this point I have had enough! This store is being managed very poorly and valuable customers are being treated like crime suspects upon entering/exiting each time. Unacceptable! Who would want to shop in such a store? Please fix your scanners at the entrances/exits, sort out aircon, train security and staff better and open more tills when your store is busy.
