I’ve been in the darkness for more 4 hours because someone from the Host decided not to load electricity units in the main house and it’s affecting me although I bought mine , I came from work , I’m very hungry only to be told that they can’t come to the site because the guests are not here , how’s that any of my problem ? As the AirBnb Management you can’t access the site and load electricity just because your guests are not in , what about the tenant that’s supposed to use electricity? I don’t have anything to do with the BnB , I pay rent here and I buy my own electricity

They handle everything photography, listings, guest communication, cleaning, and maintenance. Since switching to their management service our occupancy rate jumped 40% and our reviews went from 4.1 to 4.9. Completely hands-off income. Outstanding.

I booked through Lekkerslaap and all went smoothly. AT FIRST! There was firstly no mention of a damage deposit nor load reduction until at a later stage. We paid, no problem, we accepted the load reduction as well. However, a month has passed and we haven't received our damage deposit. One more thing is that after confirmation from Lekkerslaap, we subsequently received whatsapp messages from 2 other companies; Hostfully and The Host management, which was a bit confusing to deal with both. They also sent a link where I put all our guests' names and IDs, but upon arrival, had to wait for at least 2 hours before they gave us access to the property because the other company had sent a message requesting the exact same details but I assumed that I had mos already done so on the link. It would also have been great had they told us before hand that we will be on the 3rd floor. 🙄 This wasn't seamless and we weren't thrilled about their service. The guy who helped us was also quiet rude.

On check-in (Tuesday, 17 March) we were in the place for max 30min then needed to leave to get them to training in Newton Park. When we got back, the surprises started. We got back to the apartment at about 17:00 and started prepping dinner at 17:30 when I noted the first ****roach in the cutlery drawer. I killed, washed the equipment I needed to use and moved on. Then the rest of the ****roach family started showing itself. First Class Bellamare apartment was over run, big ones, newborns, ****roaches of all sizes, in all the bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen drawers and cupboards, appearing from behind the tiles and skirting boards. My daughter moved the lamp and what looked like another large community of roaches took off in all directions, sending my already freaked out daughter into a state of fear and full freak out. I immediately connected The Host via WhatsApp advising with images that the accommodation was infested and this needed to be resolved or them needing to move us. I was advised that it would be resolved on the morning when housekeeping would be sent. The mere fact that we were expected to stay even a single night in a roach infested property that we paid for was a slap in the face but we dealt with it. I went out at 8pm to purchase cans of doom to try and deal with the situation as best we could! We sprayed all the surfaces, floors, cupboards to try and give ourselves some peace of mind. It didn’t work. No one could sleep for fear that the roaches will get into our things and onto us! First thing on Wednesday, 18 March, I got a message to say we need to move for 1 night then move back again. I decided to call your office and I assume it was Nadine who I spoke to. I tried explaining to her that I had 3 swimmers competing and moving them around mid competition is an inconvenience and that should we move, it should be something that can accommodate us for the duration of our stay. Her response was that she made a mistake, we can move to the Pearls for 2 nights while Bellamare gets fumigated and cleaned then move back on Friday. Alternatively she suggested we cancel and find something else on our own or she would can’t booking.com to assist us in finding new accommodation. I advised her that this was not our fault, if housekeeping had actually cleaned, which they did not before we checked-in (this was confirmed by Ethan) they would have noted the infestation. I wasn’t willing to pay more for accommodation and that the responsibility lays with the Host Management company to work hand in hand with booking.com then to find us alternative accommodation. Honestly, thinking back to the conversion, she didn’t care, it was like we were an inconvenience to her and that it was our problem if we can’t afford alternative accommodation. She then sent a message to say booking.com will contact us to assist us in relocating and she has asked them to cancel and fully refund us! Booking.com sent me an email to confirm if we’d like to cancel and did not offer to assist in relocating us!!! Which is not their job anyway, the responsibility lay with The Host Management Company!! Eventually my husband called her and told her we weren’t moving without other accommodation and the roach issue needed to be resolved! She then asked not to cancel via booking.com but also only have me an hour to travel back from Newton Park to pack up for 6 people along with the groceries as Pest control needed to come in at 10am! No help offered for the inconvenience! It was our problem to deal with! For all this and the inconvenience I missed watching my son compete in his first SA Youth Nationals, I missed big races due to YOUR INCOMPETENCE and NOT MY PROBLEM ATTITUDE! when we arrived at BellaMare on Friday 20/03, there was dead roaches in the kitchen drawers, main bedroom and behind the curtains, clearly was not cleaned thoroughly before we checked in again. We rewashed the cutlery and crockery before we used it as cleaning is clearly not a very high standard for Host Management. Overall the stay and service as well as all the disruption and inconvenience (electricity issues excluded) suffered is not what we paid for or expected! Your client service is nothing to be desired and needs work! We also found roaches in our car on Thursday 19/03 thanks to your infestation so we now need to fumigate our vehicle and everything else that went along, probably our home as well as we all know they travel! For us, in future, any bookings we make that is run by The Host Management will be avoided as our first experience was atrocious. Overall the experience with your company and service leaves nothing to be desired!
