The Kindest Assistance

On Sunday 14th December I stopped in at the Crazy Store in Meadowridge.

Having found that what I wanted was on the very bottom shelf, I got down on my hands and knees to have a proper look.

Having had 3 spinal fusions this was a rookie mistake. I needed something sturdy to push myself back up on, but there was nothing I could see.

There was a young lady named Ruth working close to me. I explained the situation and she offered to help. I said that she wouldn’t be able to pull me up and she offered me a chair. I rep**** that that wouldn’t help either as it would be too flimsy.

Unfortunately, in my haste I had left my phone in the car with my husband. I asked Anne if she could phone him. She called and explained the situation and came back to let me know he was on his way. She waited with me until he arrived.

I’m not sure how I can describe how grateful I am to Ruth. Anything I say seems to be a very poor expression of my appreciation for the kindness and compassion shown to me by her that day. It is rare to find such a degree of empathy.

My thanks also go to Charlize and Getu for the support they offered me. I do hope the Area Manager will read this message and will make sure that everyone in the store who was so kind is recognized.
