The Box Fashion, the reason telesales should be made ******* as they prey on vulnerable customers and call them at fault.

I've got hold of the sales call recordings. This company obtain your details from a sales call, Platinum Life make to their own customers, to promise gifts... The sole purpose of The Box Fashion is to confuse the Platinum Life customer so much so, to the point that they agree to use their account details of Platinum Life. Please note - that is by the click of a button...Access to their Full name, ID, Bank Details and Address. What is the use of the Popi Law if a your personal details are so easily at the dispose of another company? The call end as soon as they get to send a payment order to the customer's phone so they can start to take their money. Most of the long call consist of the promises of the gift and cringeworthy, ****, over friendly agent...and then only a few minutes of going in for the kill of them reading the customers details back to the customer (not the other way around)... At any stage, if the customer shows concern or confusion, they find a better way of confusing them. Not being transparent at all, talking fast, making false promises that customer can go and log into their website, pick their own gift...get help from their family if they do not understand...but it is all lies. Because how it really works...the customer has to pay around R400 each month...for 3 month...to get a box....selected by themself. Apparently the customer could cancel or change it but they confused the customer so much, the customer thought it was their gift. Their customer service is also no good, as they show no remorse to the fact that prey on vulnerable and weak customers - in this case, is was my eldery mother, in the early stages of dementia. My mum, once a very intelligent lady, with integrity and being so very sweet and kind to the sales person, whilst you can hear how she is getting ripped apart. And guess what? Box Fashion's customer service continue to insist that my mum was at fault. That she knew exactly what she signed up for. Regardless of the fact, that she never signed into their website to select her items, she gave all of the items away as she thought it was gifts from the companynand she did not like one item in there. And best of all - my mum never got any gifts and was ****** from a total of R3600. They refunded my mum the last 3 payments, before a new box was sent...and made me understand as if they do me a favor as apparently it is not normally done. Make sure your loved ones have their phone number removed from Platinum Life & The Box Fashion telesales list. Absolute sham and such a shame to make money this way.

Good day Hannelie,

Thank you for your feedback.

While we apologise for any negative experience and truly empathise with you for any hardships you are currently going through, we would like to assure you of the following:

-            Both The Box Fashion and Platinum Life are fully POPIA compliant. No personal details are shared at any point without prior consent.
-            All complimentary vouchers promised were supp****. We fulfilled our obligations by providing the vouchers, and we regrettably cannot be held liable for any perceived loss caused by not using the vouchers provided.
-            We go to great lengths to ensure that our members are fully informed. Upon review of all conversations, your mother demonstrated no questionable mental acumen.
-            Your central feedback revolves around the initial permission call and sales call, despite recordings and records provided of multiple other interactions. This includes further phone calls, emails where the links provided were followed, and multiple SMSes that were responded to – including an SMS response from your mother confirming which box was preferred for that season.
-            All the boxes delivered also contained a letter displaying our membership T&C’s, including advice about what to do if you receive a box that you do not love and what to do if you wish to cancel your membership. You are welcome to refer to those T&C's here: https://theboxfashion.co.za/policies/membership/.

There regrettably is no further recourse available, as we fulfilled all obligations and have already made special arrangements to be as accommodating as possible. As such, we refer you to our complaints policy regarding procedures for rejected complaints: https://theboxfashion.co.za/policies/complaints/.

We understand that our concept and marketing methods may not suit your personal preferences, but through these methods, we have the honour of bringing joy to our other members who love and benefit from our services.

All the best,
The Box Fashion Team
