*****ULENT CHARGING OFF OF ACCOUNT BY TFG AND CORICRAFT
I opened an account with TFG at a Coricraft store last year in order to get a deposit on furniture so Coricraft could begin manufacturing the furniture. When the furniture was ready, Coricraft emailed me an invoice with the amount to be paid and i paid off the furniture in August last year, after which they delivered my furniture. This year while i was trying to buy a property, my credit score was flagged as TFG had handed over and *****ulently charged off my account for non payment In October 2024, 2 moths after i paid the account off AND received my goods. My credit is now obliterated and no one at either Coricraft or TFG can explain to me why there was no cimmunication between them to update that the account was paid off. i have been calling TFG for 2 weeks and they have been sending me from pillar to post and are trying to allay the responsibility of the payment on me when Coricraft did not communicate with them properly. The lady called Lorraine at Coricraft was exceptionally rude and dismissive and should not be dealing with customers as she is unable to assist without being short and rude. I am fed up with both and advise others to never have to deal with either one of these companies as they both cannot tell me how to fix the problem and keep shifting the responsibility on the other. I would have never dealt with TFG if I had not tried to buy furniture at Coricraft.
I am writing to lodge a formal complaint regarding the wrongful charge-off and handover of my TFG account, which was opened through Coricraft for the purpose of placing a furniture deposit.
Timeline: August 2024: I paid the furniture in full. August 2024: Coricraft delivered the goods. October 2024: My account was handed over and *****ulently listed as a charge-off, two months after the account was paid in full.
This listing has caused severe damage to my credit record and resulted in the collapse of my property purchase.
It is clear that either an internal administrative error occurred between Coricraft and TFG, or the payment was not correctly allocated. However, as per the National Credit Act, TFG remains fully responsible for correct reporting and for notifying consumers prior to hand-over.
Between TFG and Coricraft i need the following to occur:
Immediate investigation of this matter Removal of all negative listings from all credit bureaus Written confirmation that the account is paid in full and closed A written apology and explanation for this error
If this is not resolved within 10 business days, I will escalate the matter to: The Credit Ombud The National Credit Regulator The Consumer Goods & Services Ombud
