TFG - THE FAT-SHAMING GROUP
I completely understand that taking Donna away was a business decision to make the company more profitable, however it was communicated by various employees that Foshini would keep plus sized clothes in their stores because it was believed to empower the concept of equality. However, in my opinion this is fat-shaming. Firstly, as a working woman who dresses casual and formal to work, I used to purchase ALL my clothing from Donna, now when I enter a Foshini store, the only thing I can get (if I'm lucky) is a pair of jeans. Secondly, does Foshini think that every woman should wear crop tops? Trust me, that would scare a lot of my clients away. Thirdly, when buying online, if you wear clothes larger than 2XL, the only thing that you can purchase is underwear that a person like me would not wear. This has been happening for months now. This has become an inconvenience to countless women out there.
