TFG taking advantage of the sick
I had to return some items that I bought at Foschini Cresta on 8 November 2021. I had the slip with the items intact, and went to cresta on Sunday 12 December 2021 specifically to return the items. I tested positive for covid on 2 December 2022 and Sunday was my first day out of isolation.
I wanted to return the items so made the effort to get to cresta. The lady that assisting me refused to refund me saying the last day for refund was the 8 December. I explained that I was in isolation and was even happy to show them prove if needed. The manager also refused to make any concession.
In this time of Covid that we are living in surely retailers should be making some sort of concessions to accommodate people that have been affected. Had I been returning the goods in another 4weeks or so perhaps then I could understand the strict stance. But thus was 4 days late and I was ill in isolation.
I had my pcr test and doctors note available on email which I could access from my phone if they needed proof. But they were not interested.
Eventually Patience the manager said she would check with her area manager the next day and call me first thing. I am still awaiting that call. They were not interested in assisting me.
I have been a loyal customer at Foschini for decades and have spent tens of thousands of Rands at their stores.
Their total disregard and lack of empathy for my position has left a bad taste in my mouth.
I returned items that I purchased on the same day at Woolworths and H&M both stores gladly accommodated me with a refund.
Why is Foschini taking advantage of people who have been afflicted with this dreaded virus?
If I could give them zero stars for this review I would. I am so disgusted with this store
