I have always managed my account responsibly. I regularly check my statements, subscriptions, and payment options, including whether purchases are on a 6-month or 12-month payment plan. Everything had been running smoothly.
What I would like to understand is why TFG stopped sending me account statements.
On 13 June, I visited Jet Sandton City. I was not offered any additional products or services, nor was I asked to sign up for anything. I simply purchased my items using my TFG card. I always choose the 6-month payment option because I was advised in-store that it is interest-free.
When I first received my card, I made sure that all unnecessary subscriptions were removed. I specifically wanted to avoid additional charges and only use the 6-month payment option.
On 17 July, I received a WhatsApp message containing promotional magazine flyers. I ignored the message. However, today, while reviewing my transactions on the Bash app, I noticed a deduction of R39 for "Jet Club DigMag."
I want to know how and why this subscription was activated. I did not request any magazine subscription. There is absolutely no reason for me to subscribe to these magazines, and I do not see any value in them.
I contacted Bash customer service and was informed that the subscription was activated at Jet Sandton City. I then attempted to contact the store directly because I want a full explanation of how this happened and proof that I allegedly agreed to this subscription. Unfortunately, the store is not answering my calls.
I have never wanted a magazine subscription, and this situation makes no sense. I carefully monitor my TFG account and transactions because I am aware of customer complaints regarding unwanted subscriptions being added to accounts.
I require a full explanation, proof of my consent to this subscription, and a reversal of any charges that were app**** without my authorization. If this matter is not resolved satisfactorily, I will be closing my TFG account.
