TFG *****ing money from customers
I opened an account at Total Sports about 2 months ago. I never used the account to buy anything.
About 5 weeks ago I received an sms stating that my account was in arrears with R44. I immediately went to the Bredasdorp Branch to query this. THey looked on the system and said it was the magazine subscription.
I stated that I never gave consent to receive the magazine, and filled out a cancellation form. A month later the magazine was in mu post box!
I took the unopened magazine back to the branch and spoke to a customer service consultant over the phone in the store.
She assured me that the balance will be revoked from my account and the magazine subscription will be cancelled.
Then yesterday, 13 October 2021, I received yet another sms. This time I was R44 in arrears, ,but had until 1 November 2021 to pay R64!!! Again I went to the store. The system said the extra R20 are email charges! Is this even legal??? They phoned customer service and I was sent the following ref nr CS-426061.
This morning I decided to phone customer service again. The ref nr for this morning's call is *** I spoke to Uvernisia Bezuidenhout. She assured me that I will get feedback within 48 hours.
Low and behold...this afternoon at about 14h30 I got a call from a representative from a legal firm. According to the consultant TFG handed me over to them. I was furious.
Yet again I drove to the Branch. I said I just want to pay the R64 and will then take it fuyrther. Now the amount was R87-50. Yes! Another R20 email charges!
I have requested that my account (whioch has never ever been used to buy a single item) be closed.
I have tried to get hold of both the area manager, Hendrik Stoffberg, as well as the Regional Manager, John Sieberhagen. With no luck unfortunately.
This is not about R87-50. This is about principal. This is about TFG *****ING money from customers! I will NOT leave this matter here!
You owe me R87-50.
