TFG refusing to close my account after paying my balance in full.

The customer service of TFG is absolutely disgusting. They handed my account over to "Consumer Friend" for missing only 2 payments, due to financial difficulties. I then settled my balance in full with the hopes of reinstatement, but instead I kept getting send back and forth and a year later I have given up and want to close my account. Now they refusing to close my account regardless of my balance being paid in full. Who gives TFG the right to refuse to close a customers account after the balance is paid in full???
