TFG Interest ****

TFG advertises open an account and you can pay off your account - 6 months interest free. On the 12th of July I opened an account and have been paying enough so that by the time 6 months comes the account is paid up. I asked them to reverse the interest and I have been advised that since I did not request this at the beginning they will not reverse the interest. ( I actually did request this when an agent called me and said she would but I did not get a reference number) Irrespective of whether I requested it - I am paying the account up 6 months and am refused interest reversal and will only benefit from it going forward as now they have my request in writing. I will make payment for the last instalment and close the account (unfortunately including the interest) but wish to warn the public - the application form does not give you an option to choose 6 months interest free. When opening the acccount in store you cannot choose 6 months interest free there. When paying the account you cannot choose 6 months interest free then. You have to call in and GET a REFERENCE number. Or email and GET A REFERENCE number. It is deceptive marketing designed to get interest out of you by making it difficult to choose what they falsely advertise as a benefit. BEWARE CONSUMERS
