TFG HANDED ME TO MDC AFTER SETTLING THE ACCOUNT

I am very disappointed in the Foshini group. I asked for a settlement amount in October from Hammond Pole Attorneys you handed me to and settled the account same month. I received a settlement letter. Now I started getting daily smses, emails and phone calls earlier this month (May 2019) from now different Attorneys MDC telling me that Foschini sold my account to them. I sent proof of payment and a settlement so many times to them. The more I send the more I get smses, email, phonecalls that I should pay.

I contacted Foschini group about this and they told me in an email that they no longer have power over my account I should contact the attorneys. I do not understand why Foschini group "sold" my Exact account to that MDC when I settled my account with MDC. I guess I'll use the Ombudsman's services because MDC is not hearing me and TFG is not hearing me.

Please note that the balances are frozen as at the time the debt is SOLD and no payments or transactions (including store payment) can affect this balance.

We are rightfully retaining record of the account in the state it was as at the time it was ceded / sold and is no longer the property of TFG.

We cannot clear the account balance or remove the account from the database. This however does not affect the Bureau records as the responsibility to update the client’s credit record after settlement lies with the collection agency.
