TFG- CELL PHONE INSURANCE DEPARTMENT

Should you wish to save yourself the frustration of dealing with an illogical insurance department, DO NOT insure with TFG. The rigmarole of a simple cell phone claim is beyond reason and unacceptable in the extreme.

Firstly, their services providers could not source parts to repair/replace a cell phone screen. This bit of information was finally revealed after multiple follow ups on our part because the concept of keeping client's updated does not exist. We were nevertheless understanding of the non availability of parts for the repair.

However, this lack of service then culminated in a voucher which we are obliged to use at a TFG store. Here too, we were understanding. It is a business and businesses have sales as their main goal. What is beyond belief is that they then take away your freedom of choice too. The phones available at the voucher value are not suitable given technological improvements and changing needs. We decided to purchase something of a higher value at one of their stores and make up the shortfall with a cash payment (50% over and above the voucher value). Problem solved? NO, you are NOT ALLOWED TO PAY EXTRA CASH TO ONE OF THEIR STORES to purchase what you actually need. Their stores must not need the higher value sale either.

When this was queried, all they can advise is "their system will not allow it" and nor will they settle in cash so you can purchase the product you require elsewhere.

Here I thought their gift vouchers systems were the only major issue (an eye opener indeed). Clearly there is a serious issue with all of their systems- developed and supervised by an absolute ignoramus.

Be assured, when you insure with TFG, you will wait for service, you will not receive service that is helpful or logical and you will not have a customer friendly experience. Freedom of choice and customer satisfaction are not part of TFG's considerations. I hope this saves someone else some unnecessary frustration.
