TFG and spoiling Mothers Day

So ive been mulling over if i should create this or not, but after seeing my latest bill i just got upset all over again and decided to share. So Mothers day is on the way earlier this month, and i decide to treat the mrs to something special, thats quite expensive from ********** I do the online purchase on the 9th of May at 13.45, just in time to get the next day delivery, so i rack out the R150 extra for overnight. Thursday comes and nothing happens by 3pm, and i check my order, it still says processing, so i phone in. The first lady i spoke with does her magic on the computers and then goes oh... no... this was oversold... there is no stock, thats why its processing. I said, but the websites report there's stock. She says yea she can see that. She will have to check with the distribution centre and phone me back, but this all happens via email only, so it might take a while.. I give it till 4pm and phone again, this time speaking to another person at the TFG Group Online Customer support desk. I had to re-explain the situation and she says she will get back to me. Sure enough i got a call a bit later from person no 2 saying ok... its shipped to the warehouse now, it will arrive either Friday or Saturday. I tell her thats really cutting it close but allright then, but i guess at least it will be in time for Mothers day. So much for my R150 overnight cost.

Friday comes and goes... now im getting really agitated. I had originally given my work address as the delivery address, so how will they know where to find me if they coming Saturday. To top things off we had department meeting, and everyone left the offices after that. Here i am sitting waiting alone at the office for a maybe courier to arrive, security thinking im *****. 3.15pm i phone in again... whats the story here, are they coming are they not... they will get back to me. I tell them just please let me know whats going on, and make her take down my home address if they are late, or for this possible Saturday delivery. 4.45pm i get a phonecall from a lady... oh so sorry, they wont be delivering today or tomorrow, only the next Monday. At this point i was quite agitated, but kept my cool, saying listen, this is unacceptable, you cant just do that, get in touch with the couriers, i would like my parcel for Mothers day. She just keeps saying sorry, theres nothing that can be done. So i ask to speak to a manager. Im put through to another lady. Immediately you can hear this one is a real tough cookie, and doesnt take nonsense from customers, but i had been respectful and calm all this time, just informing them that i simply will not just roll over and have this happen. This is a special occasion, i am looking for solutions. So i offer to fetch it, wherever this warehouse is its apparently stuck at, give me the address and ill meet someone on the street corner for my parcel. I just kept getting shut down, sorry no, they have all left, and there is no one there over the weekends. They try and phone and phone, but no one answers.I can get it Monday. I ask for the courier company name and the tracking number, so that i can try and get hold of them, and was left with a good luck. So with quite some disdain i put down the phone and had to go and tell the Mrs. that the thing i had bought for her wasnt gonna be there on Sunday. Had to go out and buy something else, this entire ordeal now costing me a pretty penny.

Monday morning arrives and i phone in to advise the people that i would please to change my delivery address back from my home address to my work one, since, well... id going to be at work the whole damn day, no sense it it going there. I get told that sorry, unfortunately a change in address now will delay delivery by another 2-3 days. Are you kidding me? How were you able to change it the first time? Or did my effort of going out of my way and follow up get lost on a post-it somewhere on the site of a desk?

It arrived eventually that Monday, to my original work address. It was never changed... isnt that great... If i had just driven the extra 10km to the store they said had it i would have avoided all this... but then again thats why i paid the extra R150 surely... which... and this is the kicker... still got added onto the bill regardless (to be fair it was discounted to R75 for the order being so large, but still.. thats a good 100 bucks i coughed up to have it here fast, and nothing..

Quite disappointed at this whole thing. Its a joke. Some of the customer service people tried to help i guess, but there was no real urgency or care, and the last one i spoke with on Friday, all i can say is.. i dont think u should be working in support.

Sad TFG. Really

Reviewer Update
Shortly after posting this i received a phonecall from TFG Group to apologize for what happened. I think this was really going out of their way to show what transpired was perhaps just a fluke, and that they stay committed to customer service. My thanks to TFG for this.
