TFG account

Good Afternoon, I'm 19 years old and decided to start making credit, I went to my bank and asked for credit card and was declined as I do not have credit they told me I should open a clothing account. I heard about TFG and how good there service is so I decided to go there and they declined me and the reason being that I don't have credit now how does one start to make credit if no one approves your account and what makes me the most disappointed is... In the TFG phamflets it's stands and I quote "To qualify, you must be 18 years of age or older. Have a valid ID number or Earn at least R2000 per month" I have all of the above therefore I should qualify but I was declined. Is this not then false advertising? Anyways all I want is to be able to open an account
