Staff Bullying Elderly Customer into making Bash Purchase
My mum purchased a shoe at SportsScene Richards Bay on her TFG account. It was returned on her store card on Saturday 17 November due the size being incorrect.
Staff said they could order the correct size on Bash but needed her cell phone number. She had no idea it was an online purchase she was being forced to do as she is 73 years old.
She didn’t know it was being charged again!
I walked into the store to collect my mum as they were bullying her into this online purchase and she was saying her cell number didn’t work as the SIM was broken. At the time I also had no idea what was happening as I walked in at the moment the credit was being passed to my knowledge.
They asked for my cell details to complete the credit and I am a well educated professional so I immediately knew it was incorrect to simply take anyones details for a credit.
I refused as I clearly stated my number is linked to my TFG account. They insisted it would be ok as it was a credit and they needed it to confirm the credit.
Basically lying and bullying me. I eventually gave my number thinking it was very strange and then an OTP came through on my phone which I gave them for the “ credit”.
They insisted it was ok and not linked to my account. But my mum would receive the correct shoes and a message would come to my phone once ready.
The next thing is receive later that night and on the next day being Sunday multiple messages about ***** on my account! The ***** line is closed on a weekend so I couldn’t do anything about this.
What is most concerning then is ANYONE can use anyone’s cell phone number including staff to change a number on the system to receive an OTP to make a purchase? This is scary!
Please contact me urgently to rectify my account. And please cancel any and all purchases made to my account after 12 Saturday 16 November including to my mums account. We want to have nothing to do with this transaction
