Sketchy treatment
I logged a claim 2 months ago for a cell phone, and is sorted only now. The problem was I lost the box after 4 yrs and the imei nr could not even be retrieved from tfg transaction history or their own bulk archive or even tfg/monitor insurance. Weird né. So now they've sent me a voucher for x amount. I want to buy another device with the voucher but also want to upgrade. I can't. It must be that specific amount or lower. It's the first insurance company over 20yrs that force you to use yr claim payout the way they want you to. Seriously? Now even that amount is not available for a phone, that price. Something even more weird is that though it benefits them, I can't even load the voucher to my tfg account. Plus my payout will expire in 3 months. WOW. Imagine you insured a Nokia 3310 way back now you claim for it with these requirements. Absurd.I think this is better suit for the ombudsman.

TFG insurance when claiming:
1. You cannot use the claim payout voucher for other items than the insured item.
2. You cannot use the voucher to buy something that's worth more than the voucher. You cannot add the difference.
3. You cannot load the voucher onto your TFG acc.
4. If the item you choose is less than the voucher amount, you forfeit the rest.
5. Your payout voucher also expires in 3 months.
THIS IS NÒT COMPREHENSIVE INSURANCE.
THEY CANNOT MEET YOU HALFWAY.
